Estate Sale Specialists, in conjunction with Douglas Stinson, is pleased to announce that we have been chosen by the Trustees and Overseers to represent The First Church of Malden with the sale of all tangible property and church assets located at 184 Pleasant Street, Malden, MA.

The church and related attached facilities will be redeveloped and the entire contents including architectural elements and millwork will be included in the sale. Many of the architectural elements were likely made by the firm of Irving & Casson-A.H. Davenport Co.

The sale will include the Sanctuary. All Church pews including Gothic influenced examples with walnut rails (approximately 60), ornate Vermont marble Baptismal Font, Mahogany Altar piece with free standing columnar supports and book matched famed mahogany veneered panels along with gold leaf ornamentation, exceptional Georgian influenced Architrave with pineapple finial, dental moldings, Corinthian capitals , fluted pilasters and concave shell design, approximately 12 feet tall; An assortment of finely crafted raised panel mahogany finished doors including ten, eight and four panel examples (some having arched tops) along with corresponding millwork surrounding doors; Grand Piano. Extensive Lighting including twelve pewter Queen Anne style multi armed and multi-tiered chandeliers with cut frosted shades, Windows and Window Treatments.

The Grand Hall features three large Room size Oriental Sarouk Carpets and scatter sizes. Oil painting on canvas depicting an allegorical scene of angel in a room of three wise men. Housed in gold leaf frame and signed lower left Thos. Maasseir and dated 1852 . Antique Furniture including a mahogany Sheraton Salem Massachusetts card table with early Paine Furniture Label; Fine mahogany banjo clock having reverse painted glass panels and arabic face, Trumeau style mirror with Northern Italian scenic decoration in upper panel, Mahogany Sheraton style Duncan Phyfe sofa having leaf carving, two late Sheraton early Empire two drawer work tables, set of Queen Anne style balloon seat dining room chairs attributed to A. H. Davenport, carved library table with dropped leaves, Sheraton two drawer work table Circa 1830, Empire Revival mahogany dining room table, Empire settee Circa 1840, cast brass three piece Girondle set, six leg Phyfe style dining room table, an assortment of formal mahogany seating furniture with nicely appointed fabric, Queen Anne style mahogany multi drawer and door buffet/server, Queen Anne style double door china closet Circa 1920, six arm brass chandeliers, assorted Windsor chairs, fire place equipment, architectural fireplace mantle,

Two Kitchens- One of which is a Commercial Grade Kitchen with High End equipment including an eight burner gas stove by Vulcan. Commercial Refrigeration units. Stainless steel sinks and counters. Also included are Commercial Cooking Utensils, Pots-Pans etc. Extensive lots of Prolon Melamine dinnerware, Large collection of Johnson Bros. China. Lots of nice stainless flatware being offered in smaller quantities. This is an ideal opportunity to purchase items for your home or for commercial use.

Also to be included in this sale will be Musical Equipment, electronic Sound Equipment including an automated carillon, and a Library of books. A music classroom filled with Sheet Music, musical instruments etc.

Musical Equipment- Estonia Grand Piano (Black Lacquer case). Upright Piano, Also still to be determined is the church organ. Extensive White Chapel Hand Bell set with original fitted cases and stand. The set includes 37 bells. A rare and important set. Also other smaller hand held instruments. More information to follow.

There is a large three story wing attached to the main Church. The contents of these rooms will also be included in the sale. This will include a large number Offices and Office Equipment. Meeting Rooms and furnishings. Classrooms and Classroom desks/chairs etc. Nursery rooms with toddler equipment and toys. Youth rooms with ping pong tables and pool tables. Lots of good quality used furniture also in this wing, file cabinets. Gymnasium and folding grand stand seating.

From an architectural standpoint, included will be most interior elements including, Doors, Lighting, Moldings etc. Please check back with us as policies to remove heavy and sensitive objects will be developed. Licenses to remove electrical and gas fixtures will need to be provided. We will work with you to assist with scheduling the removal of any/all items following the sale.
